Will Curb firm give me ideas and suggestions?

YES - On-site consultation is important in order for us to help you make your yard a showplace you’ll be proud of many years to come. With many design, stamp and color options to choose from, it helps to first get an understanding of what’s important to you. Whether you want your house to stand out from your neighbors’ homes, reduced maintenance, increased functionality, or all of these, we can help you decide on the right curbing for you.

How Long does the process take?

Most jobs we will get done in just one day. Larger jobs may take more time and inclement weather may delay installation. It is imperative that you keep everything off the curb for a minimum of 48 hours. After a week the curb should be hard enough to mow on and work around. Total curing will take about 28 days to cure.

What are those cuts I see in tHE CURBING?

Two things concrete will do, get hard, and crack. Installation of concrete requires control joints. By putting in control joints, we’re trying to “tell” the concrete where to crack, if it does. Majority of the time, if the concrete does crack, it'll crack at one of these control joints and not affect the aesthetic appearance of the curb.

How long does it take to dry?

Concrete takes 28-30 days to fully cure. After 24 hours pets and small children could walk on it without any problems. It is recommended that you wait at least 72 hours before doing any work in or around the areas that have been newly curbed. Always be careful while cutting your grass but especially in the first month. Your newly installed curbing may look dry but, because it dries from the outside in, it is not at full strength.

Are forms set to do concrete landscape curbing?

No, a machine that extrudes the concrete into a continuous concrete border is used.

Do you use reinforcement in your curbing?

Yes, in certain cases where extra strength is needed to reinforce the concrete, reinforcement fibers and/or steel cable are used in the curbing mix and process. Verify this with your Curb Firm representative.

Will I be able to mow on my concrete curb?

THAT DEPENDS… If that is an important feature for you, be sure to communicate that with your Curb Firm representative. The style of curbing you choose and functional intentions of the curb will be important factors. Proper ground preparation is extremely important prior to installing concrete curbing. Your Curb Firm installers will prepare the ground to exact specifications, depending upon the style of curb and customer’s functionality requests.

Will my lawnmower break it?

If given time to fully cure, normally 28-30 days, most residential lawnmowers will not hurt it. However, if you have a very large commercial grade mower or have a landscaper who does then caution should be used.

Can children or pets damage the curb?

Until the concrete is fully cured, it is susceptible to damage. The first few days are the most critical to take care around fresh concrete curbing.

How effective is this Concrete Curb in keeping out grass?

Without an effective root barrier, grass has a tendency to grow wild and out of control. Without concrete curbing, year after year, you may have to dig away these stubborn areas. With curbing installed by Curb Firm, these problems are minimized. Concrete curbing also acts as a great barrier for keeping rock, gravel, mulch or bark from getting into your lawn.

Can I Afford Concrete Curbing?

You’d be surprised how affordable it is when you compare it to the alternatives. While, yes, there are “cheaper” products available, none can compare to the long term benefits of quality, long-lasting beauty, less maintenance, and simplified yard work. Concrete curb edging is a great value and we have curb options to fit every budget.

How much does it cost?

While pricing is primarily based upon the number of lineal feet of concrete extruded, other factors include: site/ground preparations; number of different areas to install curbing; coloring; stamping and travel distance, just to name a few. Any of these factors can affect price. This is why we give FREE on-site consultations. We need to see the property before giving a quote.

What payment options are available?

Cash, Check and Credit Cards (Visa/Mastercard)
